Hitachi Australia Appoints Michael Miller as Chief Operating Officer

Sydney, September 21, 2020 -- Hitachi Australia Pty. Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Michael Miller to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

In this role, Mr Miller will be responsible for delivering Hitachi’s expanding Social Innovation Business in Oceania including the development of Western Sydney where Hitachi is a Foundation Partner with the State of New South Wales. Mr Miller will also drive key initiatives and strategic partnerships that help advance the delivery of innovative business and technical solutions, that meet the needs of Australian governments and businesses through a ‘One Hitachi’ approach.

Mr Miller has over 30 years’ experience in the management of complex customer-oriented services businesses in Australia and New Zealand and has more recently held executive leadership roles with the Downer Group, including three and a half years as CEO of Downer Rail. Immediately prior to joining Hitachi Australia, Mr Miller was Group Head of Customer and Government Partnerships for the Downer Group.

Mr Miller has also previously held executive positions within the IT, Telecommunications and the Managed Services Industry including with Hewlett Packard, Nortel Networks and Converga.
